THE START

The oldest part of Guerrieri Rizzardi exists in Bardolino where the Rambaldi family (ancestors of the Guerrieri) developed an estate in the 15th century. Close by and a century later, the Rizzardi family established their estate in Negrar di Valpolicella. These two families were later joined by marriage almost three centuries later.

ANTONIO RIZZARDI

Engineer Antonio Rizzardi, the son of Carlo Rizzardi e Giuseppina Guerrieri, from the 1950s managed and developed the family farms, moving from polyculture to the cultivation of vines in a progressive way. Antonio was an important figure in the wine history of the region co-founding and then heading the Bardolino Consorzio for 15 years from its inception in 1969.

MARIA CRISTINA LOREDAN RIZZARDI

Carrying on from her husband Contessa Maria Cristina Loredan Rizzardi further developed the properties and the wines, seeking out new international markets and developing new wine. The Contessa would become a well-known figure in the wine world and her hard work, keen vision and determination were widely recognised. Her achievements were honoured in 2010 when she was the first woman from the region to be awarded Cavaliere del Lavoro – Italy’s highest honour for those who are meritorious business people in agriculture, commerce and industry.

TODAY

Today, Guerrieri Rizzardi is led by Agostino and Giuseppe, the thirteenth generation of the Rizzardi family. In 2011, the new winery and company headquarters in Bardolino were inaugurated: a modern space surrounded by historic estate vineyards and olive groves, designed to improve production efficiency and guide the company toward an increasingly sustainable approach to viticulture.

Developed on a single level, the winery was built with great attention to innovation and environmental responsibility, through the use of renewable energy sources and technologies aimed at reducing consumption.

Today, Guerrieri Rizzardi cultivates more than 90 hectares of vineyards across Bardolino, Valpolicella, and Soave, maintaining a deep connection with each territory. Alongside wine production, hospitality has become one of the company’s pillars: the estates, wine shops, and wine tourism experiences continue to tell a family story that spans centuries while looking to the future with the same care devoted to its origins.
